Top 7 Bigcommerce Alternatives

Bigcommerce is only one tool that you can use to create an online store and set up a new ecommerce website. There are a lot more out there, each with their own pros and cons.

In my last post, we talked about the benefits of getting into ecommerce in the first place. In this article, I’m going to list out a few different websites that you can use to get the ball rolling! Let me know which you decide to use in a comment below.

1. Shopify

shopify

Shopify is one of the most popular ecommerce platforms out there that takes the hassle out of managing and setting up an online storefront. There are a lot of themes and apps that you can take advantage of when you’re setting up your website. They also have a pretty good support forum community.

I like that you don’t need to enter your credit card in order to start the free trial.

2. Squarespace

Squarespace is another option, not just for building an ecommerce store, but also for setting up any kind of website. The web management software makes it easy to customize your ecommerce site. Compared with Shopify, it’s a bit less expensive, but I think there is less of a community and less tutorial information.

3. Volusion

Volusion is a great alternative to Bigcommerce, with lots of functionality and customization ability. Like the other websites, you can choose from a variety of website themes. The company also offers design, marketing, and business services.

4. 3D Cart

3d cart

3D Cart is another hosted shopping cart tool that you can use to set up an online store. You can also offer coupons, affiliate commissions, gift cards, and more. I like that 3D Cart puts on live webinars and has lots of resources to learn to sell online.

6. Lemon Stand

Similar to Shopify, Squarespace, and the above mentioned platforms, Lemon Stand is another solution that you can use to set up an ecommerce store. However, the pricing works a bit different and is based on the number of administrative users that have access to your website.

7. Woocommerce

Finally, you can always use Woocommerce + wordpress to set up an ecommerce store. I’ve linked this item in the list to another article that I’ve written that teaches you how! Hope it’s helpful!

Spark Pay (formerly known as Americommerce until recently) is another one I would check out. Lots of built in functionality that most of the above will charge extra via apps for.
